On Thursday a section of Thika Superhighway was closed by angry protestors who lit fires making it impassable. According to witnesses, the huge snarl up was experienced since morning after a car burst into flames on the highway before the protesters took over a while later. Police were forced to intervene and engaged in with small traders from Roysambu-Kasarani area who had camped on the highway. John Muriuki was awarded Ksh 100,000 by Jubilee Deputy Chairperson for Kirinyaga County, Mureithi Kang’ara, after his ward emerged to have had the highest Huduma Namba registrations.
