4 people were arrested for stealing DP Ruto’s eggs. The four are said to be his workers and are now cooling their heels in custody after it emerged that they stole up to 10 crates of eggs from his farm in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County.
Confirming the incident, Eldoret West OCPD Zachariah Bitok said that the four, two men and two women, were taken to Turbo Police Station for questioning.

The crates, which were valued at Ksh2500, were discovered missing from the expansive farm at around 11 am on Monday.
The four, however, denied the theft claiming that they were not aware that the crates were missing. Detectives were deployed to the farm to establish how the eggs were stolen in what is considered as a very secure farm.
“All the workers denied knowledge of the missing eggs and the manager started a search and discovered that the four suspects had hidden the crates in one section of the farm.
“We recovered trays from various suspects. Some had two, three and so forth. We are questioning the suspects,” stated Bitok.
The farm is reportedly run by the DP’s family under the close supervision of his wife Rachel Ruto.
In July 2017, an armed gunman attacked Ruto’s home in Sugoi Uasin Gishu County and shot dead a General Service Unit (GSU) officer.
According to security agents at the time, the attacker approached the officer manning the gate pretending to be selling some clothes and requested to be allowed into the home.
The intruder was shot dead by security who were deployed to the farm and was identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Mohamud from Mandera East.
