There are ways to avoid falling sick often. As a human being, you must be able to know when your body starts breaking down and visit the medical practitioner before things get out of hand. During rainy seasons, people cough and sniff nearly every day. This can be caused by contact with people who carry these viruses at work, school or in a commercial vehicle.
Several ways have been identified which you can use to keep yourself and families away from falling sick often. However, people who are exposed to germs everyday include flight attendants, doctors, teachers commercial vehicle worker, market women all of whom interact with different people, and much more.
Here are five sure ways that can help you avoid falling sick often:
1. Wash your hands
Wash your hands as much as you can every day. No matter what line of work you’re in, if you come in contact with people who are contagious, you have to wash your hands. It doesn’t matter if the water’s hot or cold, the very act of scrubbing will physically remove germs.
Most people will argue that we should wash our hands before feeding and after visiting a washroom. Well, this being so does not restrict you to washing your hands on just these two occasions.

Use soap to clean your hands as many times as possible. Hygienically, it is recommended that one should wash their hands using clean running water.
2. Get enough sleep
Sleep is important in improving one’s immune system. Because of work, many fail to give their bodies the right amount of sleep it needs daily. Getting enough sleep is extremely important especially if you’ve been exposed to a virus (for example, flu).
According to research, the body needs a minimum of eight hours sleep daily. Sleep allows your brain and the entire body time to rest, which is very important.
Research reveals that even a small loss of sleep has been shown to impair immune function.
People that sleep less than seven hours are three times more likely to develop a cold than those who do so eight hours or more.
If you often get colds, ensuring that you get at least eight hours of sleep per night could be very helpful. Eating more garlic can help as well.
3. Eat green vegetables and fruits
It is not every time that you must eat meals high in calories and chemical preservatives; you should eat more of foods rich in green vegetables and fruits. Green, leafy vegetables are rich in vitamins that help you maintain a good balanced diet and support a healthy immune system.
Green leafy vegetables and fruits provide bio-active compounds are used by the body to directly combat inflammation and infections and support detoxification and immune cell function through a multitude of mechanisms.

4. Drink water often
Drinking plenty of water ensures that your blood will carry plenty of oxygen to all the cells of your body. Water allows your kidneys to remove toxins from your body. It allows your cells to take in nutrients, and it also allows them to expel waste products. If you don’t drink enough water, toxins will build up, weakening your immune system.
Excessive intake of alcohol can damage the body’s dendritic cells, a vital component of the immune system. An increase in alcohol consumption over time can increase a person’s exposure to bacterial and viral infections. So it is important you drink lots of water daily in order to get rid of unhealthy toxins in the body.
5. Exercise regularly
This act helps keep your heartbeat in check. Here, you also get to burn excess body weight, stretch muscles and help you keep fit physically and mentally.
Exercise can also boost your immune system and help you feel better if you’re sick. However, more exercise isn’t necessarily better: moderate activity is the most beneficial for your immune system. In fact, heavy and long-term exercise—such as marathon running— could actually harm you. You can boost your immunity by getting moderate physical activity most days of the week, and continuing light exercise when ill to stimulate your immune system.
